The contrast between politicians and their relatives is interesting, but mostly irrelevant. Politicians need to say so.
The opinions and free-spending by the father of the UK Chancellor have been implied by media and opponents to be an embarrassing contrast with the Chancellors’ ‘belt-tightening’ policy.
Maybe the Chancellor should be less embarrassed and more defiant.
He could even claim that his exceedingly rich Dad demonstrates the reality of finance. He has plenty of money so he enjoys spending it. The UK State does not have plenty of money, so there’s no spending to enjoy. Earn some. Save some. And things will be much better.
